Thought I would share with the Glen Ellyn community that Coach McCluskey and Coach Leadaman, along with several assistants, continue leading the Hadley Boys Wrestling Team to mulitple wins with a team of great depth and breadth! Today, Hadley defeated 11 other teams to win the Gemini Junior High Tournament and last weekend, they defeated 15 other teams to win the Lukancic Junior High Tournament. Last week there were three winners of their respective weight classes, with many others placing in the top four. This week 10 individuals won their weight classes!

IESA Regionals take place in two weeks. The top four wrestlers for each weight class will continue to Sectionals. The following week, the top three wrestlers at Sectionals will advance to the State Meet to take place in DeKalb (NIU) March 12th and 13th.

Congratuations and best of luck to the coaches and wrestlers!

Good news!
21 boys made it out of Regionals and will compete at Sectionals this Saturday, March 6th. 11 of the 21 wrestlers won their respective weight classes (there are 19 weight classes)! Sectional will prove to be very difficult with some top notch wrestlers competing agains our top notch wrestlers. So, cross your fingers for a good showing on Saturday!

Once again, many thanks to all the coaches, especially Head Coach Charlie McCluskey!

8 boys made it out of a very competitive sectional last weekend with top teams including Troy, Homer, Minooka, and New Lenox.

Those wrestlers who made it out of sectional went to state this weekend. Three placed in state:
8th grader Toney won the championship for his weight class,
8th grader Knowlton won 4th place, and
8th grader Shute won 5th place.

8th grader Sansone lost to the boy who won the state championship.
8th grader Thompson lost to two boys - one who won 2nd and another who won 3rd place.
8th grader Hassan lost to the boy who won 2nd place.
6th grader Knowlton and 7th grader Flores had a stacked, highly competitive end of the bracket and didn't get an opportunity for wrestle-backs.

Coach McCluskey had the honor of presenting medals to the competitors of Toney's weight class, due to his championship win. The top 6 wrestlers are awarded medals.

Of the 16 teams that competed in the same sectional as Hadley, a good number placed at state. Places are as follows:
Homer (2nd),
Troy (5th),
Minooka (17th),
New Lenox (25th),
Joliet Gompers (45th),
Bolingbrooks Brooks (49th),
Bolingbrook Jane Addams (61st),
Channahon (64th),
Joliet Hufford (74th),
Woodridge Jefferson (79th),
and Bolingbrook Humphrey (87th).

Hadley placed 14th today!

Many thanks to all the coaches including McCluskey, Leadaman, Rohr, Horvath, and Adelman as well as college students/Glenbard West grads, assistant coaches Hassan and Knowlton!
