Please watch your driveways. Around the leafy area known as Parkside, Maiden, Stephanie, and Park, north of Roosevelt Road, we had burglars going around last night breaking into cars. All of us who got hit park their cars in the driveway. Only change and phone chargers from mine, but another got his laptop stolen.
Police say there is someone "in custody". Hope so.
There was a smash-and-grab in the Health Track Parking lot on Monday where a lady's purse was taken and another one today. The manager at Health track said he has the license plate of the get-away car for the Monday incident on tape and probably has the one for today's on tape too. Just another reminder not to leave anything of value in your car (especially in plain view) regardless of where you park.
I will look forward to seeing these incidents in the police blotter. Seem like pretty easy crimes to solve if you have the idiots on tape AND license plate numbers.
BTW, Jombl, did anything ever get reported about the incident at the 7-11 on Park near Roosevelt? I did not see anything.
I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. I lay awake at night wondering if there is a dog.
According to the News, two dudes other than the Gochis boy were arrested . One of the alleged bad boys, an 18 y/o appears to live on Duane, the other, a worldly 21 y/o lives on Waverly.
What sucks is that the parents in these cases may very well be decent people, they have a kid that runs amok, and we get to talk about it online.

Actually - no joke - this week, an FBI agent showed up on my doorstep asking about one of my neighbors. Apparently the neighbor in question works for the Bureau, has a high level of security clearance and they were doing some snooping around as a background check to make sure - and I quote - "She's not Al Quaida or anything."
I really thought that an odd turn of phrase for an FBI agent to use, personally.
I had to honestly tell him I'd never set eyes on this particular neighbor, and it turns out nobody else he'd questioned had, either. So either she's very, very discreet - or, collectively, the rest of us are very, very unobservant.
(At first, I actually thought he'd shown up because of those few cranky emails I've sent to the White House during the past seven years....)

Where did you see that? I also assume that you were referring to something other than the incidents at Health Track on Monday and today.

I probably don't have to worry about getting jacked at Health Track because I am usually there before the perps are even out of bed......Heck, I am barely awake when I am there in the morning..
The Duane & Annendale area had a rash of "drive way" incidents. Several items taken from cars the night of the Christmas Walk. Police said they know who is doing it they just need to catch him in the act.
Also, a woman had her purse stolen in the Jewel parking lot last thursday, don't leabe your purse in the cart while you load your van with groceries!
Especially when the "guests" from the flea motel on Roosevelt come over to that strip mall. I swear, I almost run one of them over every time I head south on Park. I guess they need money for their booze so they can go back and party!!!!

I believe they did catch them. The 18 y/o lived on Duane...right about there. Playing in his own back yard...allegedly.

I immediately put my keys in my pocket and my purse in the trunk, then the groceries. If I remember, I take my purse back out with me to the car. If I forget, it will be waiting for me in the trunk when I get home.
Man, I wonder where she lives? That's just like the 7-11 on Bloomingdale Rd., Glendale Heights. That one wall is always nailed.
Staff shortages in GE government? My husband tried several times to be a part of the GE Public works, never heard a peep out of the city for an interview. Short handed? Maybe he should apply again!
