So, after raising the sales tax by what fifty percent. The village is now going to raise our water rates by another 7.6. Funny how all of this happens after the election.

Glen Ellyn is beginning to resemble Crook county more and more. This is what you get when you have seventy five years of one party rule.

So much for generational change.

Not a conspiracy, just smart politics. Why didn't the sales tax come up before the CBP election back in November.

And now this additional tax after the so called general election.

You never raise taxes before an election just smart politics. The CBP people would like you to believe that they are above all of that .

But they're not.

The Village Manager recommended a tax increase. The Village board approved it . All CBP members voted yes.

The people who all ran under the CBP all said that they opposed the tax hike. But once in office they will not roll it back.

I'm sure the VM is politically smart enough to not embarrass his supposed masters and bring up a tax increase during an election.

Row House update...from the 4/23 planning board meeting minutes:

"Attorney John Mulherin introduced John Saporito, who was formerly associated with George Scigousky on the Duane Street Rowhouse project. Mr. Mulherin stated that Mr. Saporito has suffered greatly, both personally and financially, from his relationship with Mr. Scigously. Mr. Mulherin stated that Mr. Scigousky’s ownership in the project ended on April 10, 2009 when a settlement agreement between Mr. Scigousky and Mr. Saporito was finalized. Mr. Mulherin stated that Mr. Saporito and his family do not intend to move forward with the Duane Street Rowhouse project at this time but would like to receive approval of the Planned Unit Development and then grade and seed the site and move forward when market conditions improve. Mr. Mulherin added that funding for the project was previously in place but that funding is now on hold."
