Still there....and seems to have spread to the other side if I ain't seein' things.
Can't tell from the article. Who does one contact regarding grafitti on village property...if that bridge is village property.

Don't forget about the UPRR freight trains which by the way, park for hours on end above the bridge and are loaded with crude graffiti. Now I know the trains are not considered a permanent structure, like a building or bridge, but they are parked every day and have become a regular fixture here in GE. Nothing more precious then when your child is learning to read and is sounding out words which have been cleverly tattooed on the sides of these trains, such as F*ck U, B*tch and A-Hole. Not to mention the pictures of human anatomy. My understanding is that the village has an agreement with UPRR, which allows them to park there. My understanding is that this agreement is very liberal. Anyone know anything about this? If this is true, wouldn’t this be a case of the pot calling the kettle black? I mean, it would appear that our village is probably the worst offender. The village should lead by example and start with UPRR.

That stretch between Park and Finley is one of the longest unbroken stretches of track in the area- hence Union Pacific's use of it as a parking/holding area for trains waiting for things to open up to the east. I think there is some kind of agreement, but it pertains to idling noise. This noisy idling throughout the night has been a bone of contention for the residents living east of the underpass for years. About 10 years ago, there was a very sad incident of a woman who lived in the unincorporated area marching out to speak to an engineer of a parked train to complain about the noise...she didn't see the commuter train barreling down on her from the other direction.

I still wonder who is in charge of that stuff. Certainly not Phil Norton. If I called him to ask for removal....he'd go paint a big PN on that bridge out off spite.

Sadly and personally I know of this incident. If you notice now there is a sign that shows where the trains stage. They have pulled up to get the engines (if there are only a few attached) up past the houses on Walnut. May be related to that incident? don't know.

The Taylor Ave. bridge project was built with through an inter-governmental agreement between the DuPage County D.O.T. and the Village of Glen Ellyn. The IPP right-of-way is owned and maintained by DuPage County and the contact for maintenance is the Department of Transportaion.
The first step is to call the Village.
I've been out of town and just read this thread. Did someone already call this in? Let's say I have a vested interest in getting something done about it.
