| To add a slight wrinkle in plans: those rolling carts can be a tad hard to plow over snow banks on garbage day when I have to get out of my driveway. I don't want to hit it or knock it down so or course, it goes on my lawn, which is now a snow bank. I have a shared apron so maybe me and the neighbor should pick a side and then drive around them.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. |

| These are recycling bins, people! When residents south of Roosevelt finish with them for the week, they will be sent up north. Then, after northsiders use them, they will be returned to the south.
Rinse. Repeat. |

| We have ours. I saw the man delivering them to homes on Hawthorne today. Looks like a small business is doing the delivery. The guy has a pick up truck that holds about 30 of the bins at a time so it will probably take a little while for everyone to get theirs.... |

| from the village email newsletter... "The new recycling carts have been delivered to most Glen Ellyn homes. The remainder will be delivered by December 31. As a reminder: 1) All recycling materials may be co-mingled in the cart; 2)There is no charge for the new recycling carts nor for the recycling service to residential homes; 3) The new recycling carts must be used on Monday, January 4 and every Monday thereafter; 4) An additional 35-gallon or 65-gallon recycling cart, or the exchange of a 65-gallon cart for a 35-gallon cart will be available by the end of January. Please visit the Recycling Cart Program website for more information. " This tidbit from the recycle cart program page. "Those wishing to exchange cart sizes following the initial availability of the 35-gallon carts in February will be charged a $15 swap out fee. This is similar to the fee charged for the swap out of refuse carts. This fee will begin being charged in April 2010. This will give residents at least four months to determine their recycling needs without being charged"
It's the spending, Stupid! |
