I was at Elm and Park - traveling southbound. At Park and Oak there was a sign indicating that that the street was closed, since there was no sign at Elm and Park I assumed that the further southbound travel on Park was prohibited and proceeded to the intersection. Every direction was blocked due to road closures. I turned around went back to Park and Elm and used Main street. But the logic escapes me, was someone just playing with the signs/horses before school starts? Did someone on Park between Elm and Oak decide to move the sign so the could get to their home? I didn't see a block party or any work going on.

I have dealt with random closures of Western while Main has been under constructon amicably all summer - amicably because I have seen residents of Western on seperate occasions threaten the workers that have closed the street to do whatever work they are doing. I have even gone from Western to Park to get from Geneva and Western to the Main St. Rec center when utility work was being done on Western and Main at the same time in roughly the same areas.

Is Glen Ellyn TV coming back with a candid camera type show? Are town officials so concerned about global warming and energy conservation that they are manufacturing situations in which driving would be more iconvenient than walking? I have to believe it is something along these lines because the lack of internal communication it would take to create these situations is mind numbing.
