Fortunately, here in Glen Ellyn, you don't have to choose between prettier and smarter. That's what we are! Smile

If you can wait til the summer of 09, I'd be happy to sell you a 5-bedroom in a walk to school/train location! Wink

(Of course, it IS on the not-so-coveted wrong side of the tracks...)

Just read this and your subsequent postings. Thanks to both of you for a good lol!

When judging high schools, shouldn't we look upon them as if we are parents, rather than suitors? One child may be mature and better looking, one smarter and more nimble, but we love them both just the same. RIGHT?!

Clearly everything becomes more desireable as its proximity to clam increases!

But for most commuters, S of the tracks is the "wrong side" due to the simple fact that in-bound trains board on the N side, and there is no under/above ground crossing.

Plus, the further S of the tracks you get, the closer you get to the S of Roosevelt slums... Not that I wish to foster any dissension or anything. Wink

But on the flip side, us Southies get to split from the station earlier than those north side losers...

Where does a new (or old) resident go to learn about this Civic Betterment Party? I tried the links on this site and it looks like they moved the site recently. The new address doesn't work though. Is it www.civicbetterment.com? I tried doing a google search on just the name too but didn't come up with anything else that worked either.

You don't find the CBP - If the CBP wants to, they find you! Eek

Sorry, nothing constructive to add. Welcome to the boards!

Thanks. Looks like an interesting town from reading the message boards. Lot of drama and intrigue and friendly, funny, and intelligent banter. I thought the town had character, I'm learning from reading it also has some characters. Good stuff, I may be able to cancel my satellite service and just read the boards.

No. I definitely love my eldest son the best. The little one knows that I can't stand him. Tell him so pert near every day.

There is some good and bad in any community. This message board appears to be a little more cynical. As I consider my community options I am curious what is good and what is bad in Glen Ellyn. If anyone is up to help out a potential resident, could you please tell me the top 3 good things and top 3 bad things? Thanks for your help.

Yoo, hoo - koconn - are you out there??!

What did you decide to do? If yes, welcome to our community, it truly is a village of smart, interesting people. If no, do tell us what it was that dissuaded you. Either way, we'd love to know. Please give us all an update. Smile

Sorry for not responding earlier, but I had not checked the topic for awhile. Yep, I'm coming. I had spent a lot of time in G.E. over the years and always thought it would be a great place to live.
