Many folks down in Raintree were without power yesterday for 3 hours. We have one hard blip and them lost power for 15-20 minutes late in the evening (I am guessing to allow the repair).
No one seems to know why.
(It was a good test for our new LED lantern that my DH got for his 5 year anniversary at work.)
I'm just west of you - we had a blip as well - power went back on, I went to bed around 9:30 and slept beautifully - to a house full of blinking lights on microwave, etc. - I had wondered if the power had gone out again. Did have a text from Com Ed saying it was restored, but no idea when that came through.

Yeah, I didn't know you could set up a text thing with them, either! Darl, did you do that online or something?
Mine goes out everytime we get high winds, would be nice to know when it's back on in case I'm not at home.
IMJ, I never understood that either. Why was that never upgraded? I've lived in many areas (Carol Stream, Ingleside, Naperville, St. Charles, Valley View, Elgin, Hanover Park, etc....) never have I lived anywhere where the power goes out as often as it does here. I don't even bother re-setting the time on my microwave in the summer time anymore.
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
