I really just wanted to say that I am so thankful for our Village President. It has been so long since it has felt like someone is actually listening to the people and cares about it what they are saying. Mark Pfefferman is up on this board every day listening and commenting and really trying to make things better. Even when a problem can't be fixed right away, just knowing someone is listening, really makes a difference in how you feel. Just want to recognize a positive thing in Glen ellyn.

I declare my membership in the Mark Pfefferman Pfan Club. He is a very special person and Glen Ellyn is fortunate to have him as Board President. Earlier this week, he even took time out of his very busy schedule to remember that we were taking our child off to college that day, and he sent a warm and supportive e-mail. What a nice surprise to find in the in-box.*

Thanks, Mark!! And thank you Martha, as we know that he wouldn't have run without your okay.

Obsequiously yours,

GEmom2

* Thanks for your note too, GE Fan. Smile

"Obsequiously yours" - I lke that!

And I agree wholeheartedly with the thread's sentiment. It is odd - Mark seems to be extremely well intentioned and hard working - but little of what he has done has stricken me as rocket science. Just makes me all the more confused why we don't see similar results and get a similar vibe from our other public servants. Confused

Lets see if they shovel the cbd walks this year. Its not rocket science, but my guess is it will do more for the local economy than installing green space near the tracks.

So as I was just sayin' .... Smile

Seriously, thank you for the kudos. I am honored and quite humbled reading this. Please know I realize it is Glen Ellyn, and not me, that deserves the praise. We live in a unique community with almost unlimited potential. You all are part of that.

You elected a qualified and dedicated village board and clerk. It is a team effort and any personal recognition is quickly shared amongst the group. Jim Comerford, Peter Cooper, Andrea Drafts, Phil Hartweg, Carl Henninger, Pete Ladesic and Michelle Thorsell represent us well! Their individual contributions to Glen Ellyn on an almost daily basis are impressive.

The people that make up your board may disagree and debate (a positive, imho) but there is no doubt in my mind that GLEN ELLYN is put first during any consideration.

Your input is ALWAYS welcome and encouraged. Our village management team is highly talented and responsive to specific concerns about day-to-day operations via phone call or glenellyn.org. And your village board could not have bigger ears! (Figuratively, of course...)

Please keep those comments and suggestions coming. No topic is out-of-bounds as long as it is constructive. The team grows stronger with feedback.

Thanks, I think, Dinsdale. Actually, I could not agree more. When used in partnership, our COLLECTIVE intelligence - residents, business owners and operators, village team, board team - is far greater than any individual's.

Here's to all of you! Thanks again. Please keep sending the great ideas and suggestions. Best wishes for a nice summer weekend! Cool

Mark

Mark's a very decent man who "gets it" when it comes to public service.

He can also bench press more than Clamato. Wink
