I'm struggling to learn about the candidates for village board and village president. The bios at the CBP web site are quite short and go into little detail. Two candidates have web sites. Jay Strayer's site offers a bit more info than the CBP bios, but not much. Mark Pfefferman seems to have two sites -- between the two of them, I've been able to learn more about him. Only two candidates, Pfefferman and Henninger, have taken advantage of the "Meet the Candidates" area here. That's been helpful, but only for those two candidates.
Any suggestions on how I can find out about the other candidates?
Tim Armstrong has a site as well, electtimarmstrong.com. They have speeches running on GETV and will soon be posted on the Civic betterment party web site. You can meet them on November 22nd at the Civic Center from 8am - 4pm. They will be at a meet and greet prior to voting.
Check GETV (Channel 17 on WOW). Tonight, at 8 they will be broadcasting the Civic Betterment Party's Candidate Forum. It is their taped statements of who they are, what they think is important to GE, why we should vote for them and why they are running for Trustee or President. It appears that GETV will be broadcasting this at various times and dates this week. And then there is always the Town Hall meeting where they get up and speak this Saturday.
The traditional way has been to go to the meet-and-greet Town Meeting at the Civic Center. All the candidates will be there; you can chat with them in an informal atmosphere before you vote.
Candidates will also make formal speeches from the stage at the gathering; in years past these were broadcast live on cable channel 17 so people could watch and then come vote. (The speeches weren’t broadcast four wears ago, however. I don’t know about this year.)
In any case, GETV/17 has taped short presentations by the candidates. Once edited, these will be broadcast on channel 17 and will also be posted online. I don’t believe a date has been announced yet.
Some candidates typically show up at the train station in the morning to kiss hands and shake babies. All rather old-fashioned and charming in digital 2008.
Yes, Mark Pfefferman does have two web sites... the real one is Pfefferman.com... the other was a draft which will soon be replaced by a pointer to the “real,” detailed one.

I was really hoping for something in advance of the "meet and greet" on the day of the town meeting. That leaves basically no time to consider what they say before voting. It also assumes that I have no conflicts that morning. The "meet and greet" is charming, but inadequate in this day and age.
Does Tim Armstrong have an email address that he is willing to be contacted at for this purpose? Mark Pfefferman responds to posts on this board and Jay Strayer lists an email address on his web site, but I've not stumbled across an email address for the third candidate.
