Remember when Grace and St. Chuck in Lombard was controlled by stop signs? I never saw it as a problem, and it consistently allowed traffic to flow through the intersection with far less wait than the signals. Can't imagine why those lights aren't switched to flashing red in off hours...

Oh, I HATE that intersection!!!! It doesn't seem like rocket science to me, but so many people are clueless on how it works! And when you get the light heading S, it seems to take forEVER.

Way to go Good Neighbors. Less money for the GE History Park.

Why I don't get is the right turn on red sign by dominicks. You can easily see oncoming traffic from the left side.

Are you talking at 38? Or at 53??

There is no turn on red on westbound Baker Hill onto northbound 53. Mainly due to the fact that you cannot see northbound traffic on 53 coming up a hill and there is a fence that also blocks your view.
Police will park on Bryant between Fairview and 53 watching the intersection for those who break the law.

I wasn't sure if that's what was The GE was referring to or not. Yeah, the view is a bit obscured there....and there's also the fact that the oncoming cars may not be able to see you, even if you can see them. That's true for both sides of Baker Hill over there, too many hills and curves....and the right lanes cut down shortly after that intersection as well.

According to my wife, I might be one of those aggressive Glen Ellyn drivers. While driving in the Appalachian Mountains on Thursday I was hmm testing out the cars road handling abilities. As we came over the summit of one rather steep road, my wife pointed to the sign that said: Aggressive Driver High Crash Area and said: "Oh look kids it's a sign written for your father".

Since this thread was started I've driven that stretch of Park many many times, at all times of different days of the week, and in various conditions. Never encountered the least bit of difficulty or confusion there. I must just be lucky.
