Has anyone noticed the no smoking signs adhered to the benches in our CBD? Being that smoking is banned within 15 feet of building entrances, exits and windows and now on park benches, McSmokes will have to stand in the street to light up. There is a God.

I'm looking forward to the warm weather, when I can enjoy an Einstein's bagel outside without Stinky McSmoke's cigarette smoke wafting through the air.

Well, well, well...that didn't take very long. As of 5 minutes ago, Humpty Dumpty and his pal are/were smoking on a bench outside the train station. Why on earth would GE place no smoking signs on benches and elect not to enforce the ordinance? The Illinois ordinace calls for no smoking within 15 feet of an entrance, exit or window, yet there are signs on benches well beyond 15 feet of any building. This to me means GE went above and beyond what was required (didn't have to but they did)and now they don't enforce it? What's point were they trying to make by placing these signs on benches?

Calling 911 when all the bums were sleeping in PP Park didn't work. I don't think calling 911 to report a bum smoking will? This is total joke! Man, am I disappointed.

I saw that too.

I feel bad for those folks, but its just out of hand. I ran by Staarbucks with my kid... that woman that is always here was sitting in the window with here feet stretched out across the chairs and sitting there for at least 2 hrs. I understand there is fine line between "patron" and "loiterer", but at least don't put your stinky feet up on the other chairs.

Be careful. The police and everyone else on Duane...despite their cries of not doing so...monitor these boards very closely. You are over the line in your criticism, glellyn! Wink
