2009 can't come soon enough for this village, IMO. My ultimate candidate will not run...so we should be thinking now if there are any civic and business minded individuals out there that will run against the only guy really chomping at the bit for the job. It is important that we aren't electing another person interested in padding his or her resume, or even remotely interested in having the job in order to climb the social ladder. Glen Ellyn needs someone who knows what they are doing. Someone with a strong business background and progressive attitude. Someone that can move this village into the 21st century.
Don't know much about our apparent future village president other than everyone seems to know he will be elected. But it sure would be nice to have a real choice come election day.
Any thoughts? Anyone know of any willing and capable individuals interested in the position?
I find it hard to believe that no one really showed any interest in this topic. The one time that you can actually make a difference, local politics, and people don't seem all that interested. So...when we get another retread of a Village President ushered into office due to the influence of one man...no complaints from anyone about the way business-as-usual is handled on Duane St. And especially no complaints about $1,000 fountains and celebratory floral clocks.
I hate you all. Mostly GEFan. . . but all of you nonetheless.
I haven't been here long enough to know any better; however, no recommendations may be a signal that its yours for the taking. I see Papa Smurf is ready to assist your campaign "Betty Lauren-Maltese" style. What more can you ask for?
