And you never answered my question, Jombl. How many time outs have you had on that message board? Worried it will be brought out that I wasn't lying about that and closing the door on your gutless ranting?
Come on, be serious...there is no 'enemy list' You're just perpetuating what this lunatic thinks is true, or is trying to get people to believe is true. Multiple rapes on children, etc...
You've posted one persons critique - taken during an arcane discussion over an oil standard.
You are still using outside history to crush a PADS opponent, and it does nothing to further support your initial intimidating lie.
You obviously feel that you are unable to debate the merits of PADS using policy and facts, your full scale assault on me, based upon one persons attacks is beyond the pale.
It's a question of character.

This is exactly why I stepped away from this BB. I am only posting occaisionally because honestly, the hatred and seething that was happening here and the angry and terrible things said about my pastor and about people who are in a terrible spot was just too much for me. If I had a blood pressure cuff, I'm sure my doctor would tell me to take some kind of medication. Jombl, you seethe with hatred. It's one thing to have an opinion but you dish them out as though you are going for the jugular....so hateful. There is just no other word. And then, when someone DARES to respond in kind, you accuse said person of "personal attacks". You are doing the same - only you drew first blood. Do you go to church? Do you have a sense of faith? If so, I'd remind you, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brother, that you do unto me." A lesson apparently not learned....

Hey Ring, Lion's info is posted on his profile on the GE BB. If he wants to make it public, so be it.
Just thought I would post it in case anybody missed it. Guess he's trying to sell his artwork.
Variety definitely is the spice of life but sometimes you and your ilk go too far, but that's my opinion.
Just because someone has the luck, wits, and work ethic to make some cash in this world why are they penalized??? Some great letters to the editor in the wall st journal from small business owners carping about future tax increases. Sleepless nights, complexities of running a business in this over regulated world, cash flow, A/R,A/P, sales, profit, pension plans, tax obligations, your competition, insurance for all, etc, etc, and yet, we are facing punitive measures for being the largest employers in the nation.
You adhere to the theory: What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine too.
Always clamoring for more of this and more of that and expecting everyone else to pay.
I'm starting to puke to have to live in this state that I have grown up in all my life.
Further to this subject, as I have stated before, seeing these homeless in and around the woods of Perry's Pond makes my skin crawl. When I was a kid, like my children and their friends not too long ago, it was a place to fish and run around. I'm not saying that all homeless are homicidal maniacs but I'm sure there are a few perverts hidden among them. Hell, it's admitted by PADS vols that I know that some have issues. What more needs to be said?? And we're attracting more and more like moths to a light bulb.
...seeing these homeless in and around the woods of Perry's Pond...
Again I say -- and this is really important -- “homeless,” ”vagrants“ and ”PADs clients“ are not interchangeable. Please -- everybody -- use the correct word or phrase, or arguments for-or-against are pointless.

The other day I spoke with a HS girl who works at the GE library. I asked he how work was that day, and she said it "kinda stunk" because there was a "hobo" (her words - apologies Ted!) sitting there, staring at her the whole time and mumbling under her breath. Said it was kinda creepy as his staring made her feel as tho he was mumbling about her, and there are some parts of the library where she said she felt somewhat isolated.
Yes, a minor matter. And apparently the elibrary is open to all, whether they wish to use the materials/facilities, sleep, or ogle high schoolers. But I thought it kinda unpleasant. Not a situation I'm thrilled about supporting financially. And I'm sure the girl's parents are quite pleased.
I've been unable to locate any stories on home invasion rapes of young girls in Glen Ellyn. Can someone post a link? I'm new here so I don't know the back story. It's important though because I need to know whether it was one home invasion and rape or two home invasions and rapes. If it was only one then I support PADS, if it was two then I support the vagrancy bill.
The threads "50 cent Tony" and "GE Safety" have some information in them among others. You can search by keyword "rape" and pull up the specific posts. IIRC, it was one incident that many felt was "covered up" by local officials. I think it was a case of a family inviting someone to stay with them, and this happened... not a case of someone busting down the front door and going pell-mell through the home. I could be wrong tho... it's been awhile.

The anger (from both sides) seems to stem from an issue unrelated to the original PADS point. You can't pin a "hateful" moniker on someone who is being attacked, personally, in a discussion. How would you defend yourself against a lie on this BB? I agree these discussions have become heated in some arenas. That is what you get when you discuss politics, religion and family safety issues.
Jombl and GER may not go out for drinks someday, but I believe they are both big and strong enough to handle their opinions without our intervention and opinions.
The rape of the ten year old Glen Ellyn girl in her home that I referred to here:

Originally posted by jombl: Probably not, but if you're worried about your children I implore you to seek help, if it's his friends talk to their parents. Don't stay quiet if you feel someone is dangerous.
The real risk still appears to be to those who have seen the brandishing of firearms, or threatened with knives, or been solicited for prostitution, or stumbled across hidden prison "shivs". These are the things that occur in Glen Ellyn.
The reality here is that little girls in Glen Ellyn have been raped in their homes by vagrants. No reason to make stuff up to be worried about, plenty of true events right here in this Village.
Was mistakenly written in the plural, I believed I was discussing two groups and a singular event that crossed them - it was not read that way, I am mistaken and apologize if anyone felt mislead.
(Unrelated to PADS, I know a family in GE that when I was growing up took in homeless, allowed them the use of a basement apartment and another above the garage. There was also an incident in that home. I myself watched one of them display his genitalia and masterbate on the sidewalk not more than three houses away from Hawthorne School on more than one occasion to schoolchildren walking from Hawthorne. I was a student there at the time.)
[EDITED: Corrected "to Hawthorne" and replaced with "From Hawthorne" ]

Well thank you for the apology. How dare you make raping children seem like a problem by using the plural rather than the singular. I mean, I think all reasonable people can agree child rape does not really become objectionable until there is more than one. Right?
My recollection of the event is that it occurred in the Spring of 2007. A local builder had a vacant house on Forest that he intended to tear down and replace. In the interim, he made the house available to a family that had been a client of PADS. That family in turn invited a second family to live with them in the house. The father of the second family raped a daughter of the first family. I believe she was 8 years old at the time. This incident didn't appear in the "police blotter" reports that get printed in the local papers. My recollection is that it didn't really come to light until about June or so. The Daily Herald had a story in mid-June, but I can't recall if that was the first news story or not. I just googled for news stories on the incident, but it looks like you'd have to pay $2.95 to buy a copy from the archives. If you're really interested, that might be worthwhile -- I'm sure I don't have all the particulars correct.
