The sound on my computer wasn't the clearest, but didn't Trustee Norton vote "No" to the prospect of further consideration?

Yes. Norton and Thorsell voted no.

Norton did vote "No".

I think Norton's VLM comment has done a lot to show the community what he's all about. I think he has also helped bring about what appears to be a re-examination of the selection process. Good job, Norton!

I did not attend the pre-meeting. Not sure what was discussed and why it warranted putting off the vote. My guess, of course, is that four of the six trustees read my post and realized how wise I am.

I will say this. I am tremendously disappointed in Trustee Thorsell's actions. It is one thing to stand your ground after finally making your decision. It's really quite another to dig in your heels when given the opportunity to slow things down. Cooler heads certainly did prevail last night, and I applaud those that voted to slow things down.

Something isn't right with this process or with this candidate, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why these two seem to want to go forward at a roller-coaster pace. If TBS is indeed the right and final candidate, so be it. But get all of the information in front of you, girl. My guess is that she is just showing the traits of males with "big balls". Not sure what the female version of that would be...nor would I like anyone to post it. But that girl is just wildly off the rails on this situation.

It's stuff like this that makes it apparent why the Civic Bemusement Party has a one-term tradition.

The CBP did not endorse Ladesic. IIRC, neither did you Mr. Cla "Monday morning quarterback" mato. Where would we be without him today?

Thanks Mr. Fan. You are the best! I too thought the apology was well done and it gave me an idea. To all the GEBB members and lurkers, I'd like to apologize for all the outrageous and inappropriate comments made by my friend Mr. GE Fan. Why you couldn't do that is beyond me, but I got your back.

I got to the workshop around 7:30 and they were going through the TBS contract. To summarize, there were charges that were being called into question, most prominent in the discussion were the website. H-L has offered to do the website for free and the Village Board was asking TBS if they were willing to match the offer. TBS is charging approximately $12,000 for the website. TBS seemed unwilling to match the H-L offer and they seemed reluctant to work with H-L. A trustee even suggested the Village could get their own webmaster and save some money. TBS had a very vague, non-commital response to this. IMO-TBS has yet to "wow" me, if anything, the more they speak, the worse they look. I think seeing TBS in action may be paving the way for a re-examination of the vendor selection.

This is the scene as I saw it, I could be off a bit. Those who were there for the whole engagement feel free to correct my interpetation

You are absolutely correct. You just did a great job of summarizing what happened at the workshop.

Sounds to me like TBS is trying to get out of the deal without being the ones to walk away. Walking away would be devastating to the business. Not getting a contract would be...not getting a contract. No biggie. My guess is they no longer want to work with the village. Given that their cut of the deal is south of $50K, neither would I.

We were speculating about TBS desire to remain in the process last night at THG. With all the flack their getting and the dragging out of the process, you would have to wonder if they just might cut their losses by using the "cost to kill" philosophy.

When I was at UAL, Boeing would do this all the time when we added to an already agreed upon scope. They never said "No" they just came back with a price tag that would cause us to back away on our proposed scope creep.

I would like to correct your assertion that I did not fully support Mr. Ladesic in the last election. You may recall, and I had several conversations with people, that I was initially against his candidacy until you and another convinced me that I was an idiot. You may also recall that I had received phone calls late in the game asking me to work against him. And I refused.

For the record, I voted for two candidates for trustee. Mr. Buckton and Mr. Ladesic.

12k for an interactive website. Fair estimate. But I would say that if 12k is going to be spent on this interactive project website, I would also build it to be used for future projects for the village. For 12k, you best be getting a Sharepoint/SQL backend with data collection capabilities and also room for growth and configurations that will allow the village to change on the fly to best serve it's needs. I do not think the village's website cost 12k, so there best be some serious backend to this baby.

The way Mr. Louthen left the meeting the second their portion of the meeting was pulled last night, I feel he will probably pull their bid out by Friday.

I thought it was odd that he left so abruptly.

Fan,

Excellent clip from last night's meeting.

For those of you who were not there, in the lower center of your screen, you can see the two from TBS get up and leave at approx the 1:07 minute marker.

So what you are saying, no fun and all work?

Nah, I'll pass on the work....stick with the fun.

That being said, I'm offended.

Yes, I supported him too. I did.

Is that how politicians do it?
