Of all the articles I have read on the last meeting and the upcoming one, not one discribed what actually happened at the last meeting or discussed the glaring problems that took place.

The vociferous little minority seems to be the only one's that know what actually went on in the workshop meeting with Trustee Candidate finding more holes in TBS's resume and past work than Andrian Peterson found in the Bears rushing defense in the first game they played this year. With The Herald, GE Sun or news, and other print and web media outlets not reporting what actually went on at the last meeting, how are the citizens of this village going to find out? The GE newspaper that was delivered on Wed. didn't even mention that there were unhappy citizens at the meeting and that there were a bevy of uncomfortable moments worth stating. The majority of the citizens in this village probably do not have a clue on what is going on in that room. Once again, the media has failed to report fact or accurately represent what went on. What a surprise. Now if Brittany was there, then we would get coverage. Someone get her on the blower and get her to the meeting Monday, let her know to leave her undies at home as well.

I'm a bit confused by a word choice in that article. Can some of the word smiths here help out?

At this week's workshop meeting, some residents said they're confident the village will select the best firm. But others were double-minded about the possible outcome and were adamant about exploring Naperville-based Houseal Lavigne Associates.

What about this?:

quote:
Despite residents' push for Glen Ellyn officials to further evaluate two consulting firms, the village board seems to have already pinned down its most popular choice to conduct a downtown study.

Most popular? Doesn't this make it seem as though, those opposed are in the minority?

Here is the direct quote from the meeting:

“When we’ve got a vociferous little minority who like to come here and make a lot of noise that is not the 27000 people of the Village of Glen Ellyn”

If you would like a full copy of the audio, Candidate has one and is willing to share!

I would like one please. There was another case of foot in mouth disease that I would like for everyone to hear.

We could make buttons that have sound when you press on it.

So basically he's saying that an active group of people has no business trying to represent the opinions of the 27000 people of GE? HHHHmmm, Yoss is smelling some irony here. Just in observation, but it seemed that he, MS Hase and the other two trustees were the minority in that room regarding the selection of TBS. Eek

Lord Norton must really have his finger on the pulse of this town to know with great certainty that those who made the effort to participate in the process only represent a minority opinion on the selection of TBS. Perhaps with that gifted insight, he can pick the winning Mega Millions numbers for me. Wink

Looks like nobody ordered the buttons, and the person hosting that Cafepress page did not offer shirts.

Maybe Kevin Fahey of TownTees could help… He is a local business.

Buttons have been ordered and are on the way. Not sure if they will be here for Monday or not.

humorous line from the article Ted posted the link to,

“Please know that the public involvement process happens from beginning to end,” he said. “It’s not one step of the process.”

I don't think that word means what you think it means...

???

Inconceivable!

Vizzini: INCONCEIVABLE.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

That's the second time this month that quote has been referenced - I did on the Barack Rocks thread January 6! Apparently it has broad appeal as a favorite movie line! Smile

I am very disappointed that I will not be able to attend tonight's meeting. May the voice of reason finally be heard. Clam, please save me a VLM button. I look forward to proudly wearing it.
