Daily Herald Story of 1/29: Glen Ellyn steps back from picking downtown study firm.

Unfortunately, I could not be there last night. However, I am pleased to hear that Trustee Comerford supported a motion to table this contract for a couple of weeks to allow for cooler reflection. His comments seemed genuine. It is pathetic, however, that Trustee Comerford had to make the apology for President Hase and Trustee Norton. If you haven't read or heard Trustee Comerford's statement, he siad that there were some comments made at the Trustee's table by supporters of TBS the previous week that were inappropriate. And he said he was sorry for that.

Well, Trustee Comerford is NOT the one who made the comments for which he was apologizing. President Hase berated the residents in attendance the week earlier. She also apparently snidely remarked under her breath to Trustee Armstrong, "I hope you're happy", after several people expressed concern over the selection process before TBS's presentation. When Trustee Armstrong requested out loud that she explain herself, all she could do was say something like, "look what Glen Ellyn has become", with reference to the people speaking out. SHE should have apologized for that.

And obviously Trustee Norton should have apologized for his remarks.

Despite Presiden Hase's rhetoric, I honestly don't think she or Trustee Norton care much about their job on the Board on this Village.
