idiots. i just went to pay this bill online. if i want to use a credit card (with a 2%fee to the credit card company) they will credit it today. if i want to use a check i have to date it for tomorrow (and pay the county a late fee.) so, off to the bank..i'm not giving them or the credit card company an extra PENNY!!!!

I paid at US Bank's Main Street branch with a check like I always do and am a little concerned that the check has not cleared - despite the PAID stamp on the tax bill.

I am DONE paying at the bank...2 payments in a row I paid at US Bank the day taxes were due and 2 times in a row our check was returned because US Bank failed to endorse it. The last time, we got slapped with a returned check fee and late fees, EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T OUR FAULT! I ended up speaking to Gwen Henry herself and it took about 10 minutes to convince her that she should remove our penalties.

If you look at your tax bill, it says that late fees etc. are factored according to the postmark on your envelope. So, if you get it postmarked by today, it won't be "late".

well, i just printed out my payment page, AND the page where they say IN RED that my payment will be counted as "on time" since i paid today. makes you crazy, doesn't it? these property taxes pay their salaries and they still can't get it right.

I have many issues with my decision from the State, too lenghty to type here. Objectively, I thought I had a real good case, but I guess so does most everyone else. The one thing that bothers me the most is the County's refusal to answer my questions. They couldn't answer them at the hearing and never responded to my letters. Seriously, I think Milton is really messed up, granting me a reduction based on my claim would have opened a huge can of worms.

You mean to tell me that many Government employees are not concerned with providing valuable service to those who pay their salary!? How can this be? They're citizens just like us, how can they not want to do a good job and serve the public trust?

If true, than I'm writing a letter to Gov. Blago, he'll set things right!
