I seem to remember some time ago reading a thread that said tennis shoes hanging from power lines are supposed to be a signal of someone selling drugs in the area. Is this true?

If it is true, there is a pair hanging from lines at the corner of Elm and Highland right next to Forest Glen Elementary School. They have been there a while. It would seem to me that the Village would see something like this and get them taken down asap.

I don't know of any drug dealers there, per se, but I do know of a home brewer in that neighborhood. Maybe he put them up there as a signal that his Hilltopper Beer is for sale to the 5th graders....

Agreed. It means some poor parent is getting drained of another $50.

It was a joke...I have a neighbor, also on this board, who brews his own beer...purely for private consumption. I will say, it is the finest home brew I have ever tasted and better than most commercial stuff. If you like that kind of thing, you should find him.

Oh, good! Thank God. I have no problem with those either!

Cheers!

I just read the snoops article.
My guess is that maybe a graduating 5th grader threw the shoes up, or maybe there was a sexual milestone in a neighbor's backyard!
