Now I feel guilty for posting the picture. Please use discretion in using the previously posted picture.

I couldn’t help it… I see a challenge to find something and I have to do it.

use proof and intelligence to talk her down on the BB, and spread the word to your friends. but for the sake of good PR for this BB, don't stoop to sophomoric bashing. . . we'll look worse in the end.

Damn you and your freakin' level-headed common sense, t.a.!
FWIW, I was never going to alter the photo. I just wanted the BB to see what she looked like so they would know who to stare at when EVERYONE shows up to the Board meeting on January 14th.

It's in the public domain. I suppose if I weren't so lazy, I could have found it myself. Thank you for your hard work.

Good! Now I don’t feel guilty for posting the pic! I’m so glad that weight is off my shoulders, I ALMOST considered taking the pic down. Now I can rest easy knowing that we are all adults.

I'm actually 12 years-old. For years, my father has been taking credit for my witty repartee and living off my hard work on this BB. It has made him a very minor celebrity around town.

12 huh? Explains why you are on here so much. If I were 12 and looked like Nathan Lane, I wouldn’t leave the house either.

So you are all saying we should get every GE citizen to show up to the village meeting on January 14th??

Where can we advertise this to get everyone to attend? Hmmmm????

I was going to start a thread a little closer to the event. Many, many, many retailers and town folk are showing up from what I have heard. Should be entertaining.

Please. It's entertainment for Christ's sake. You sound like some freaking radical muslim objecting to a cartoon. Relax Francis.

I thought that everyone in DuPage County used the Villa Park-based CMV DVD-Video Conversions.

They are right off the intersection of Route 83 and St. Charles, are the best in the business and any storefront DVD service wouldn't stand a chance against them. The price is right too!

They have been doing this film-to-VCR-to-DVD for decades and have a soup-to-nuts, top-to-bottom approach that will always have me returning to them instead of some El Lame-O Grande storefront in "downtown Glen Ellyn".

You see, you don't need a storefront for this type of business and in fact, CMV is in a warehousey type of building. They even have a window you can look through that lets you see all of their conversion equipment chugging away.

Do these rump rangers who are shilling a DVD-conversion biz for "downtown Glen Ellyn" even know who the players are in this business?

If not, I suggest: Google

I'm as relaxed as I'll ever be. Maybe without Patton we'd be conversing in German, nein? You can't argue with his military record.

My post was flavored with cabernet and I'm sure went overboard a little. It is clear from reading your posts that you are very sharp and would generally give good advice. Even though you are relatively new to the board you quickly garnered credibility and your words have significant influence on others. To me, this post sounded dictatorial and controlling and, unless challenged, would have the effect of limiting what others might post for fear of being chastised. I frankly don't care what others may think of the content on the board. There is good content and bad content, and everyone can judge for themselves which is which. If someone attempts to dismiss all the content as silly or sophomoric, then they have either not read it consistently or are a little lacking in intelligence. I guess my bottom line is that I simply don't take kindly to unsolicited directives. Now, back to my siesta.

From the Go Downtown Group:

Hello all,

Attached is the January newsletter. I waited to release it until I had a better understanding of what the next steps are for the long term strategic plan for the downtown.

As of today, Town Builder Studio is preparing to make a presentation on their proposal and answer any questions at the Workshop on Monday, January 21st. Please watch the Village's website for any changes to that schedule.

Also on the newsletter is the date for our next Go Downtown! meeting. It will be held the last Wednesday of January at Tap House Grill, 8:00pm. The agenda will be to discuss the long term strategic plan project and what, if any, we would like our role to be.

I look forward to seeing you at the meetings,
Diane McGinley

This meeting was postponed until the 21st, wasn't it?

Or was it always scheduled for the 21st?

Either way, it isn't tonight, right?
