Yesterday we recieved 47 more letters and e-mails from residents regarding the selection of a planning firm. We did not have these the night of "the Vote". We had originally recieved "a selection" of them, ten in total, before that nights meeting.
I am sure it will come as no suprise but not one resident supported Town Builder Studios.

At this point, what is the purpose of delivering the e-mails? If they were not going to be provided BEFORE the vote, why deliver them AFTER the vote? Why - To rub in the fact that James "I'll e-mail trustees to see if they'll change their vote" Comerford, Michelle " I'll change my name from Thorsell to something else at the last minute if Hase tells me to" Thorsell, Vicky "I'm planning on hightailing it out of here the minute my term is over - and that's good" Hase and Peter "Mr. Neighbor - I'll recuse myself" Norton spit in the face of the residents and totally disregarded of the public's wishes? Why? Because of that?

What position at the village hall is responsible for getting the emails to the board members in time for their meetings?

Is there any indication or discussion of why they picked TBS over a more qualified HL? The reason I say more qualified, is because you can look at the communities that they assisted with their plan, and see that their plan worked and continues to work. TBS developed a plan for Robbins, that will more than likely never implement their plan. I am sure HL is upset they were not chosen to develop the plan, but at the same time probably relieved.

Relieved because they don't have to work with a board that sees a Knitting and VHS to DVD store as the centerpiece of their rebuilding project. I hope the board never admits it was a price issue, and they took the low ball quote. I doubt we will ever get a logical answer until the board is not re-elected and we can get a younger group of citizens with the foresight to know, that the answer is not to preserve "old GE", but to revitalize old GE into a downtown that is a destination for more than the homeless..

Just as an observation:

In the last 6 days, I have talked to 6 business owners in the Downtown area about business and the state of downtown GE. Not one wanted Town Builders in here. Not one was happy with the situation that is taking place. 3 of them asked if I knew Candidate, and I said yes, why? All 3 said he was the nicest guy in GE. I agreed. Also, all of them said that the GoDowntown! group has been fantastic and they really respect and appreciate Diane and the rest of the group.

SO, thanks Candidate for all your hard work and also speaking for the MAJORITY of tax paying citizens of GE. And, did you ever open that 1992 Beringer Howell Mountain Bancroft Ranch Merlot? That was a Parker 95 rated wine. I hope you enjoyed it if you did. It is absolutely the best Merlot I have ever had.

Thanks for the kind words, no need for thank yous though, I am merely trying to fulfill an obligation I made last April. As for the housewarming gift, it is still in a cool dry place. I may need it by the time the planning firm and Village Manager hire are over.

what a shame. these letters were sent electronically (read: instantaneously). who was responsible for collecting and delivering the letters? better asked: who is the irresponsible one who did not offer up these letters to the board prior to voting? i (we) deserve a name.

Oh No. I fear for what lays behind the door that Perplexed has just opened.

The internet is like a window to the world.....good work perplexed, and clam, the floor is yours......It is times like this when I wish I had photoshop....

for what it's worth, i think this thread has reflected some of the intelligence that resides on this BB. IMO photoshopping Hase in compromising/comical ways can only erode that perception of intelligence.

use proof and intelligence to talk her down on the BB, and spread the word to your friends. but for the sake of good PR for this BB, don't stoop to sophomoric bashing. . . we'll look worse in the end.

Great Point t.a.!!! As I watch the snow fall in my backyard, I realize that it would have been great fun, but it would have eroded the great points that are made about the direction the board is taking our village.
