As I have been the only one to crab about this problem in the past (perhaps those who live in the Coveted Lake Ellyn ("CLE") area don't believe it exists), I will take credit for this ordinance. You're welcome.

I don't live in the CLE (although, don't we all wish we could), and I have never seen the graffiti. I also never saw the forty in PPP or stinky McSmokes. I better get my eyes checked again.

I saw this. I like it, except for the fact that they don't mention enacting any stricter penalties for those caught tagging. I say cut off their hands.

I know it's extreme. How about we keep it to a hand?

No work done except bitching on this board - I was taking credit in a Clam sort of way. To those who have not seen the graffiti - do you never frequent Malloy's Liquors on Parkside and Roosevelt? The nearby apts. are generally a fine place for graffiti viewing. Quite artistic. In the past it would be there for months before it was halfassed covered over. I'm sure the gang graffiti (and the bum problem) has a lot more to do with scaring prospective homebuyers and downtown shoppers away from Glen Ellyn than a couple of wads of gum on the sidewalk. Not that that's not a problem too, but way down on the scale of importance in my book.

graffiti on the UP property: train station area, commuter stands, info signs and the underpass. i'd love to see if the GEPD will/can enforce the 10 day removal policy with the UP.

The lower third of the water tower got a fresh coat of paint last week. Coincidence... or Message Board?

The BB....and because nobody reads this stuff....they undoubtedly are not aware of the three or four black hefty bags (perhaps filled with body parts?) that sat in front of WAMU all weekend long. Perhaps they are still there.

Another facet in The Jewel of the Western Suburbs.

funny thing, while strolling thru CBD on saturday night, i happened upon those same bags. i attempted a closer look only to arouse mcsmokes from his slumber -- and he was situated on a bench farther east in front of the nail salon. figuring the bags were his, i ambled on. mcsmokes returned to his natural slump.

I think he just goes there at night, otherwise he out on the town, half conscious. Your his buddy-Is he on some kind of pain medications that makes him drowsy? The guy always seems out of it. I know you mentioned him having a back injury, maybe he's taking something for that?
