I knew you could take the heat off your lousy picture taking by saying you are in the market for cameras. I think your picture, while not properly lit, is perfectly staged and represents the condition of those garbage cans for years. It is not a recent occurrence.

Went to PJ's last year and bought a Pentax KD110. Added a 28-300 zoom lens that was about the same price as the camera. I do like it, but don't know what the heck I'm doing half the time.

Somebody recommended that one over the D40X. Why the hell aren't GE58 or BE adding their two cents? I hate those guys. So smug, so exclusionary.

A D80 body w/ 10.2 MP is more than a D40X w/ the same MP. And the D40X comes with a lens. What does the D80 have that the D40X don't got? BTW, answer in the new photography thread.

..or have strange enough working hours that reading the forum every day is almost impossible. Big Grin

If you are going to look into Canon intro level dSLR's, wait about 25 more days. There will be news soon of another sub-$750 dSLR w/ a decent lens. Expect Nikon to answer that with their own intro-level model replacement.

Man, I hear ya there. Ours is a Canon Rebel with a Tamron lens. Essentially the same as our Canon film.

I don't take photos all that frequently, so any time I want to do anything other than point and shoot on full auto, I need to dive into the instruction book. Then a couple of months later when I want to do the same thing, I've forgotten what I did the last time, and have to go back to the book.

At least your mistakes are a heck of a lot cheaper with digital than film.
