How long is a builder allowed to keep a sign in the front yard of a home he is supposedly selling? Riteway has had a home for sale just north of Hill on the east side of the street. Always liked the house and the lot. I envision myself renovating the little house and rebuilding the garage to compliment the home. Of course these are ridiculous thoughts as my talents end with cutting the grass, washing the cars and writing checks for anything involving home repair...and cooking the family meals.
This house has been for sale for the better part of a decade if I am not mistaken. Is there any rule against this? Also, whomever is living there has installed a couple hundred solar lights resembling a runaway at O'Hare (God, I love those things) which makes me think that they are there to stay even longer...with a sign in the yard. |

My understanding is that as long as the sign meets ordiance requirements, it may stay there indefinitely...part of the first amendment, iirc.
You have good taste. You know this. The drawings of the new, proposed, home for the lot incorporate the architecture of the existing home into the facade ... kind of like North Michigan Ave... |

My only thinking is that it would suck having to live next to a sign for 5+ years. It has been that long...or more...hasn't it?

Mr. Briquette,
The home of which you write is north of Hill on the east side of which street? Just know I'll be out driving around today and thought I'd take a look if I will be in that area.... The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith. " -Bertrand Russell V. Delong |

Well done! I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. I lay awake at night wondering if there is a dog. |

There's two by me -A Hill Ave. one, which is a lot -neighbors next door get to enjoy it a little while if they have kids. Kids can have a little ball game on the site probably and not get hit by a car, like back in the day when we were doing the 'game on' 'game off' type thing. And there is another one on Bryant, next to the house that was 'moved' a few feet -I always thought the builder bought the house already and the peole/old owners there stay -maybe even rent? I think this case the old home and lot are not for sale anymore.
