I thought it would be a nice idea to post on the BB homes in the area that have some nice holiday decorations. Folks go to a lot of time and expense to make their homes look nice for the holidays, so I thought why not acknowledge their efforts.
Here's the deal-If you see a home that really has gone out of their way to decorate, post the location here. I would suggest staying away from posting an exact address, but if you give an intersection or vicinity that should do the trick.
I'll prime the pump-My neighbor west of the intersection of Eastern and Second (Glenrise area, NE of 5 corners)has a nice display in his yard and on his roof.
"Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like s***."
I always tout the house on 53 North of Spring on the East side of the road. For years they were the only house on 53 between my street and North Avenue to have anything and they always have such a beautiful setup.
Also, I like the house that has a giant evergreen practically resting on its roof. They did a fantastic job decorating it. This one's on Park in between Hillside and Fairview. (a long stretch, I know, but I can't recall exactly where on Park other than that).
Also, I recommend checking the GE Patch sometime soon. Matthew (the editor) did a lovely photo spread on Halloween decorations, so I'm sure he'll have something nice for Christmas decorations as well.
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
The home on Willis between Lee and Riford never ever fails on any holiday. Also, the Victorian on N. Main in Lombard with the 100+ plastic Santas is something I count on (and look forward to) seeing each year.
