Our town seems to be quite rich in the number and diversity of cool vehicles on our streets and in out garages. I've been wondering if folk thought there might be any interest among GE residents in getting together to show off our cars? My personal tastes run towards the older specimens, but I could imagine welcoming anyone who enjoyed their car, whatever its age and condition.
If we wanted to test the waters, maybe we could start off with a casual BYO picnic for a couple of hours somewhere, followed by a cruise around town. See if there is enough interest in doing it annually, possibly morphing it into something more.
We were driving back from Breckenridge on Sunday and there were numerous cars such as yours heading west back into Iowa . . . along with a few other cars made by the same company. Must have been a gathering in central Illinois somewhere off of I-80. Maybe we were on 88 . . . don't remember.

Well I don't have any vehicles worth showing, but I LOVE looking at them! I would so go....maybe I could convince my buddy in Streamwood to show up with his mint-condition Studebaker....I LOVE that thing....
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
We could do a vintage and muscle car boycott protest drive over the bridge into Lombard this Saturday. I would be willing to show off my '04 Kia Sorrento.
Cruise through town and head back over the bridge. Spend some money at the local GE establishments.

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
I'll participate. But as a grown man, I must admit that I am not too fond of picnicing with another grown man - it's just not my thing. Can we do Vittorio's or something? Maybe Tony could reserve a few spots in front. Just a thought.
