Has anyone heard why Hill is blocked off all the way from Park to Lorraine? Its been this way since yesterday. Oddly, there's no work going on. The reason I'm inquiring is b/c we live on Hill and have noticed that UPS and FedEx aren't making deliveries to the houses on Hill citing "adverse/hazardous road conditions." Its a little frustrating as we are expecting some stuff to be delivered. Anyone have any idea how long the closure may last?
I believe this is due to Main street being ripped up a bit. They are just detouring folks early (onto Lorraine or Prospect). I didn't know they had signs at Lorraine. I first noticed them at Prospect.
Glen Ellyn's Public Works Department will be working on a concrete restoration project along Main Street between Fairview and Hillside Avenues, just south of the Central Business District. The project will require Main Street to be closed from Tuesday through next Friday. Detours will direct traffic accordingly.
