What classes has she been in that have been cancelled? They did just switch to a new fall schedule so maybe what she thinks is a cancelled class is instead just a tweaking of the times. The only way to gauge the popularity of a class is to count the heads that show up each week. Obviously if only 2 or 3 people are there, it makes no sense to pay an instructor. I do know of an 8:30 a.m. class that was recently cancelled because the instructor got a full-time job. The Aerobics Director added it to her already heavy class load but decided to give it the ax when only a handful of people were consistently coming.
I agree that HT has an annoying tendency to charge extra for classes that are somewhat new and cutting edge. Many members refuse to pay up though and sometimes they end up being added later as free classes. One example of this is Pilates, which originally was a fee based class. Now though, there are about 6 - 10 free Pilates classes through the week.

I've heard that a lot of very young pretty women work out there...now who told me that???

We looked at ay many places and found the YMCA to be the best value for our money. Classes are not free but baby sitting is and the lower monthly cost of the Y offsets any extra charge for the classes. I know there are a lot of people on this BB that are not fans of the Y but it does work for us. The cheepest way to work out is to buy a pair of running shoes and to jog pushing the stroller but I didn't win that arguement with my wife and I doubt you would either.
Do you work out before or after a few Amstels?
