| Thanks for this info - living on Spring, I heard sirens chasing down toward Hill both nights. Last night, my son came home from school (the marching band got in late from a competition in Springfield), and said he saw the ambulance, fire trucks, etc. blocking off the intersection of Spring, Hill, Hillside & Whittier. |

| I must commend the emergency services, Glen Ellyn and Lombard, who were on the scenes (pursuit and support) very quickly. Well done. |

| Sunday morning light revealed that the driver managed to hit a power pole and a big ole willow tree while missing two other poles before stopping near the 5-way intersection (facing south). This past winter another driver hit a pole in the same general area, but on Hillside. Can everybody please just slow down in this area? Maybe remind your teens to do the same. Is there some sort of time trial contest or cannoball run to Lombard that I'm not aware of? |

| This news is nothing new. I've seen year after year of basically people leaving the scene of hitting trees, hitting high curbs, hitting hydrants, late in the evening on Hill. One time a guy left on his rim(s). Another time, we neighbors gathered outside to see if help was needed, the guy left dragging part of his car but we could see him creeping around the neighborhood down other streets (probably to see if the cops came yet or how many of us were outside). Curb damage is still there. Tree damage is still there. I've had car parts in my lawn.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. |
