Just wanted to state the obvious, but the colors this past week have really shown our village off in its best light.

Yesterday I was driving S on Main from Geneva towards town, the sun was shining - WOW! Cool

Every household that chose their plantings with an eye towards fall colors (and from the look of things, that is a lot of households!) is really reaping the benefits this year.

Yes, especially those beautiful maple tree leaves (which we'll be cleaning up in the next few weeks)!

Maples this year seem to be more yellow that orange/red as in years past.

I have never seen the burning bushes so red. We have several Bloodgood Japanese maples and they are outstanding as well. This year the leaves have turned from deep burgundy to a vivid red with orange overtones. I am enjoying the color and taking a lot of photos, because I know what comes next!!!! (That nasty 4 letter word!)

I was just noticing that Sat and Sunday. I was just commenting to my husband that I though we should go for a drive, it was picture perfect. I have to grab my camera. My car goes perfect with the fall foliage. I match the leaves perfectly. Actually I blend in - now I'll probably get hit where as before I stuck out like a sore thumb. My car now can be a spring-summer & 'fall' car.

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
