2 kids with a heart attack looming.
Need to make a Will or Living Will to make sure the kids get taken care of.

Anyone got any advice on a not too expensive, but legal and comprehensive, way of doing this. Or a decent (ha!) lawyer that could set this up locally.

thanks

Jeff

Talk about a low hanging curve ball...80% of the people reading this board are lawyers.

Ahhh... makes sense. This accounts for the folks that tell everyone what they're doing wrong, but then do nothing about it. All clearer now...

I'm not an attorney, but I play one at work! I agree with you Clam, a lot of people reading are probably in law.

My attorney's (my job) or my neighbor can do a pretty great job. Would you like their numbers? I'm unsure what you may consider pricey. I feel we're (my place) fair to low. I don't know the going rates. Really, I don't. I'm unsure what my mom paid but she had whole kabang and she didn't peep about the price.

Living Will, POA -Health and POA -property can be done on your own. Samples can be provided. POA -property needs a notary.

As for doing a Will, trust, estate, etc. etc., better off getting an attorney to do the whole package. You keep originals of course. If something happens, kids, wife, can take paperwork to whomever they choose! Doing something with the house, ie put in Trust, isn't a bad idea either.

i'm no lawyer, but i could probably take a swing at it. it'll be written entirely in lower case though. not sure if that'll hold up in court.

OK Ruydah, I concede that you are correct on Clam's baseball knowledge.

I believe it's "low hanging fruit" OR "a hanging curve ball".

But they still come to your restaurant and eat your food . . . drink your beer. They aren't bad people at all.
