Not that I want to give a certain group of people any ideas, but I had a nightmare last night that there was a pedestrian bridge spanning Main Street leading from the G.E. History Park West over to the G.E. History Park East. When my tax bill came, it turned out that had I ended paying for a significant part of it. That's when I woke up.

The foot bridge you need to lose sleep over is the one that would connect Glen Ellyn’s two archaic historical districts. Both celebrate the village’s distant past and honor the way things used to be a hundred or more years ago: - the Historical Society campus up at Five Corners, and
- the downtown Central Business District.
(Does anybody else find it entertaining that the Society’s History Center at Main and Elm is only half as old as most of the empty CBD buildings?)

Yes, and that building is an eye sore IMO.

Once the old gas station has been bulldozed, what this town needs on the east side is a Glen Ellyn Future Center. The foot bridge can connect the two museum campuses.

I picture a cute little breakfast/lunch place/ bakery. Something with 10-15 tables and a breakfast counter. And with a theme... like southern that serves good biscuits and gravy. Or french that serves croissants, french style omelettes, and yummy cafe au laits. I'm sure you all get the picture.
But I'm sure we'll end up with something a lot more useful like an open lot or a millinery.

I'd go for that. Probably stop there every time I drive past the intersection on another weekend Menards run.
