I just have to share.....This evening a friend of mine from another town happened to be driving down western just north of the tracks when his car stalled. About 8 different people yelled at him as they passed him by. Screaming at him to get out of the way.. He had hazards on.. Are you kidding me? Now, chances are guilty parties will not see this but if so, please find some happiness in your life! Get a dog or something.

Unfortunatly I believe you and more unfortuantly, I had the awful experice many times this summer with that. I was learning stick and a lot of times it did not go well and I could not wait to get out of this area to practice. A lot of 'hurry up and go' drivers around here. Stops signs are now yields I'm affraid. And yes, I was yelled at-a lot. I wasn't driven to tears but one time after driving a more busy street and stopped for red light, I was all set to gear up for the green when as it turned green I probably over shot something and it did a quick stall. Had it restared and sloooowwwwly moving within, like 3 seconds, guy behind me, laid on the horn for 5 seconds... That kinda hurt my feelings. I noticed probably a minute later he was behind me many yards back. I think he felt bad. And no one say because I was a crappy driver. Big Grin I go quite well once I'm above 1st. I keep up and probably over-shoot traffic.

When a pedestrian in our fine town I'm frequently surprised at how often people shout at me out of cars. I always thought it was poorly mannered kids - tho I guess they get their manners from somewhere.

I am not the most well-traveled person, but I do not get a sense of receiving such pleasantries elsewhere I have lived and travelled.

The other day my kid said that as she biked home from work a car full of kids nearly hit her as it was blowing a stop sign, and then proceeded to drive alongside her as the occupants called her a c-nt among other things. Lovely.

Don't make me go back and find your views on coming to a full stop at a stop sign, Dins. It won't be pretty. Wink

I'll give you a shiny new dime if you can find anything suggesting I advocate anything other than coming to a full and complete stop if other traffic has the right of way.

God....I love you, Dins.

BTW, do people still use the "C" word? I thought that was a relic of the last millennium.

I believe it was reported by the media that Jane Fonda does use that bad word. Roll Eyes

Perhaps she is also a relic of the last millennium.

I think the "c" word has been replaced by the more gender friendly term of dumb @ss.

Several times I went out jogging in our fair village this summer, and someone drove by and yelled something rude at me. It's usually HS/college kids.

Point and laugh all you want people, but the random shouting scares the hell out of me. You're forcing me back on the Prairie Path w/ the pantsless and vagrants.

I can't say I've used out loud in the last 20 years or so. But I was listening to Pelosi on NPR the other day and the word certainly popped into my mind. But in my defense, she earned it.

Yeah, in my generation, the "C" word is back. It’s so offensive. Also big now, but I think fading a bit, is D--che Bag. Network TV discovered that it can be used without censorship and it's generally used in place of DumbA$$ or A$$h-le.

Are we talking about "C" you next Tuesday?

Because I am continually appalled by peoples driving in this town. I have only lived here for about 6 months but have had about 10 near misses at stop sign intersections . Are you kidding me? It's as if it's a contest... who can pause the least at a stop sign because no one is stopping.
