Somewhere about $25 per plow for driveways, but does not include sidewalks and walkways. If you have a concrete or brick driveway you may want to avoid the trucks that drop the scraper on the drive as it can crack it. If you live in the SARC area there is a landscaper with a bobcat that will plow driveways in the neighborhood.

I've got a question for the group. How early is too early to start snowblowing? My husband likes to take care of the snow before going to work but he also likes to leave for work very early. I believe the town has a 7A.M. noise ordinance. Does that apply to snow removal?
I was out there at 5:30 am on Wednesday morning with my snow blower. But to keep the peace, I cleared both of my neighbors drive and the neighbor that was using the old fashion shovel. My thinking is, if they city and state can plow all night, why can't I use the snow blower at 5:30 am.
The snowplow trucks were out from about 4AM on. Since shoved/plowed roads, driveways, and walk are safety factors I don't think the noise ordinance applies to them. Since unmowed grass is NOT a safety hazard that is why one can not mow grass until later. I have never heard that anyone was issued a ticket for snowblower noise.

The 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM ordinance regulating noise is for construction noise. The topic of noise came up in last Saturday's "Coffee with the Cops" and the term "reasonable" was discussed. The example which was discussed was that loud music at 5:30 AM would be "unreasonable". You might want to stop in the next time the PD has this event if for nothing else than to have a donut or pastry from the Flour Barrel.
I had a neighbor years ago who snow blowed at 4:30am. That was unreasonable and the police non emergency line agreed and asked me to call 911. I also called the guys home and woke his wife out of bed. Only fair since my toddlers were up from the noise.
I phoned the village that day and they advised that the 7am to 7pm noise level applies.
I always try to use common sense, does your neighbor work nights? does she have small kids? are your lots small? Anything before 6am annoys me.
I was out at about 6:30am. I think you have to try and be understanding. For example I have a neighbor couple and the wife is pregnant. Husband has to leave for work by 7am so he needs to snowblow before he goes. They can't risk her slipping OR trying to clear it herself. When I am working, I leave at 6:45. If the snow is heavy, I'm snowblowing as early as I can. I don't think I'd do it before 6am( TWSS - sorry, I couldn't resist - Damn, The Office!).
Now, the other neighbor (who thankfully moved) firing up his Harley at 5am - THAT was over the top!

The village dumps the snow from the CBD at Ackerman. The were many years that we were in bed listening to the tailgates on the dump trucks bang away (no comment needed) ALL NIGHT LONG. The police said they could write tickets but, they would cite the drivers not the village. It's much quieter in the Northwoods.
