Yeah, I'm personally sick of it. I tend to like winter and snow, because I enjoy being able to cherish spring and summer, knowing the bad stuff's coming. But this winter has me beat. Have you noticed it even has the little kids beat? The last few snowfalls, I've noticed, haven't resulted in the usual rush to get outside, build snow forts, go sledding, etc.
I like this thread. Other things that I hate about snowy winters:
*The salt ruins your shoes in about a day *Nobody shovels their sidewalks, especially lately *weatherman continue to prove they don't have a clue what is really going to happen
You think we have it bad, I'm in Southern Indiana and everything is covered in ice. No salt, no sand, not even kitty Litter... Just ice. Makes you miss Glen Ellyn Public Works!

Fan, get yourself a craftsman snow blower.......You will not be sorry. That thing has saved me this winter. Admittedly, I used it maybe twice last winter....This year, I have used it at least once a week since 2008 started.
I was never so happy to see sun today.....I now realize what those people in Seattle go through with not seeing the sun.....
According to a weather news person, this is the worst February for snowfall since 1893. No wonder we have no practice in dealing with this mess. SNOW is a 4 letter word!
Fan, just give me the word and I can just keep going whenever I do ours. Apparently the joy you had when gettin that Toro has worn off, but I am still havin fun, so just let me know.

Is there an ordinance about shoveling snow like in other towns?

You know what Fan? God Bless ya! I feel so bad for Mr Spacie. We live on Lambert...He goes out...snow blows the sidewalk from the neighbors driveway past ours, around the corner and down the side. Not only are we a corner house, but its a half acre...so its pretty wide and deep....and then..............then..........the snow plow comes and plows ice and snow up onto the freshly blown sidewalk. Slowly Mr. Spacie's posture slumps a little more. By spring I fear he will resemble his 104 year old grandpa who is calcium deprived. He may be babbling like him too!
Seriously...he can't keep up, he might as well give up.

GEMom2...I like your positive thinking. I've given up shoveling and just sing the words from The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow from Annie. It's my meditation mantra for now. Hoping it'll work on the driveway. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Admiral,
As for our current weather: This too will pass. Winter isn't always so terrible in Glen Ellyn. Spring is coming, rejoice! Today wasn't so bad because I didn't have to shovel or snow blow.

Good point and possibly illegal. I'll take it off. Just Image then... George Harrison's Here comes the Sun. There is anther good sun song but it escapes me right now. When I think of it i'll post the title.
