Since it's Valentine's Day, this is the perfect song to melt away the snow.

Good point and possibly illegal. I'll take it off.

As sunny and lovely as it is outside, I was just over in the Coveted Lake Ellyn area and saw an older woman's feet shoot right out from under her as she fell on a patch of ice. I pulled over and checked that she was okay, then had to help her up. She was clearly upset, so the clean sidewalk efforts are worth your time. Smile

No, no.. I know that one well, hear it every day on Yahoo Radio. This song is from the 70's, sung by a black woman. Has been redone a few times. It's on soundtracks too. I just cannot picture the title or hum the tune right now. I'm completely blank.

I found the song. It is, however was sung and made popular originally by Johnny Nash. I believe I remember it being covered by Gladys Knight or even better, Anne Murray.
I can see clearly now. I think there is another female singer that I remember doing it also. Jimmy Cliff does a good version also.

Installing a back-up ain't that hard either. I did it myself at my old place and would be more than willing to lend you a hand.

Thank you to everyone who reached out and booo to GEMom2 for calling me a blasphemer.

For all the insults that some of you on this board get, and for those that brand many on here as a vociferous little minority, I want to let you all know how much I appreciate y'all. 5 people from this board reached out to help today. Luckily, it wasn't that bad and the problem was quickly fixed without any damage....but thanks!

Dear GEFan,

I apologize for adding to your distress by name calling. I have watched over our sump as the water level rose and the back-up pump's battery failed. It is a terribly helpless feeling. That is the reason we have a shiny new generator in the garage now and the new back-up battery plus new carpet in the basement.

I know it may be hard to believe, but I really though you were being a smart aleck, (hating all weather for all reasons) and weren't in actual dire straits. I'm glad it all worked out for you.

You're too sensitive. I laughed at the comment.

But here's what happened. I was walking down my stairs at 6:00 amish and all of a sudden I hear, boom....and then the sound of water gushing. I have a new sump pump, a battery back-up and now a nice new multi-use pump. Apparently, the out tube from my sump froze and created a back-up...thus, blowing out the PVC at my sump and back-up. My new pump will just have to do the pumping until spring finally arrives.

Luckily....no damage as my basement is title and linoleum and all water was quickly controlled.

I hate adverse weather!!!
