Hey, Buddy. I’m not sure quite how to tell you this so I’m just going to come out with it. You need to go away. Not forever, just until December. We’ve had a good run this year haven’t we? I mean, that snow for Christmas? The kids just loved it. Well done. And I really have to thank you for the snowmobiling…just tons of fun.
I think somewhere between the 25th and 30th snowfall I began to tire of you. Don’t get me wrong, playing with the snowblower is a blast, but it’s really more of a 5-times-a-year thing. This morning was really the last straw. 6” of the wet, heart-attack snow? Needing to be done before work so the kids at Ben Franklin can walk to school? Those little brats don’t even appreciate it!!
I’m done now. No hard feelings. I’d like us to part friends.
See you in December.
Your pal,
Ruydah
p.s. Those 20 mph gusts blowing ice crystals in my eyes on the walk from the train? Totally uncalled for.
I hope Snow will listen to you. I mean, you were very nice about telling snow to "go blow."

I just got in from cleaning up the driveway and sidewalks of the snow that has fallen from the trees this morning. I was rather surprised to find some old dead cicadas in this snow. Guess that they really are primordial nuisances.

Ruydah, I know you live on a corner lot, but you might quite possibly have the world SMALLEST driveway. Hell, even clam's mini (referring to his car) has to park diagonally in it! You get no sympathy from up north. Anyway, I thought you were good friends with Clam. When I don't feel like doing my drive I just ask him to do it. Never fails.

What I lack in driveway I more than make for in sidewalks. I know this is a foreign concept to you, but I also do the driveway and sidewalks of my 86yr old neighbor. This is how we do it South of the tracks. It's called helping your neighbors. Not just exhchanging smug looks of indifferance towards one another like you Northsiders.
She is a sweetheart from the old country. Just don't let her snag you unless you have a good hour to kill and are willing to tour her backyard. She is often seen sweeping her driveway during the summer months waiting for the unsuspecting victim.
Also, as one of my least favorite radio personalities says, "reading is a skill." I also clear the walks of 3 neighbors. I would expect you to clear the walk and drive of an 86 year old neighbor. That doesn't make you nice, it just means you either have a conscience or a wife that would kick your @ss if you didn't. Clearing the walks of the young, healthy and wealthy, as I do, qualifies you for "nice" status.
BTW, WTH is with the addresses on your street. One ends in 1/2?

Very strange...the whole previous block has only about 6-7 houses on that side with huge gaps in the numbering, then they get squeezed by me. My guess is that at some point in history my lot and hers were one. At least I didn't end up with an XXX-A address.
I'm sure after she's gone the guy who tears it down and builds his McMansion will petiton the village elders.
