Are you serious? I can't believe they told you to put it in the garbage.
Most Auto stores will take used motor oil. I take mine to the AutoZone on Roosevelt just across the GE border in Wheaton. They may take antifreeze as well, you will have to give them a call.

There is a recycling facility in somewhere in Napertucky. I thought it was near the Children's Museum. I recall bringing some oil-based paint and paint strippers there...a long time ago.

Last I heard...Lake Michigan was the place.

No, they didn't tell me to put it in the garbage, they said to put it with the garbage at the curb. Then the garbage men would see it there and notify the proper people to pick it up. Think I'll bring it to AutoZone. And, don't worry, I won't dump the anti-freeze in the sewer or the neighbor's grass.

Hmm, never heard of that. Maybe they posted this info on the marquee. COD usually hosts a toxic disposal day once a year.

Hmm, I always thought the Village offered motor oil pickup, but I can't seem to find anything about it now. Maybe that changed in the last few years? I know I used to put motor oil out on the curb... I always thought it was being recycled.
