The Glen Ellyn News is so fun to read.

There are the brothers Kral of Glen Ellyn that saw fit to get into a fight in Glendale Heights and fire a shotgun at the house of those they were fighting with. We didn't do that kind of thing when I was 18 and 20. Where do these crazy kids get a shotgun anyhow?

Couple of more morons...Mario Coix and David Sosa of Warrenville got arrested for breaking into cars in Wheaton. Which is stupid because about 4,000 kids have been arrested for breaking into cars in Wheaton over the past few weeks. Doesn't anyone follow local crime any longer? If they had just read the papers they would have known to pull their stunts in a less prepared town. Like Hinsdale. I'll bet there is a lot of good stuff to steal in Hinsdale.

Last but not least...Ms. Toby Owhoka of Addison. Decided she didn't want to serve on a jury so she called repeatedly to complain. When she was unable to get out of her civic duty, she called a bomb threat into the courthouse. Wasn't hard to figure out who made the call...and she spent more than a month in county jail before being released on bond.

I hope we can all learn valuable lessons from the stupidity of others.

A good reminder, JR. So remember people, when preparing your Halloween flaming-bag-of-poo for JR's porch, please wear rubber gloves. And for goodness sake - stretch out before ringing the bell and running. You wouldn't think it, but JR is sneaky fast, and his wroth unquenchable.

I think we owe our police a shout out - at least in the case of the Cheeshead, Kral bros and the punks dealing drugs at the Lake - all crimes involved firearms and our police were able to apprehend without incident.

I just don't get what's going on lately. It appears a sexual assault and an attempt at an abduction of a student just took place in Wheaton too.

I think I saw that same scenario on an episode of "World's Dumbest Criminals."

Maybe it went down like this: "Yes, 911? I was meeting these dudes by Lake Ellyn to sell them some weed and they pulled a gun on me and stole my stuff!! I have their license plate number, though. Please hurry!!"

A couple of items were taken from our Halloween display Sunday night. Gosh, I wish I had it in me to put some good bait out front and sit up at night and wait...but have little ones that I have to wake up with in the morning.

The kid may have been a son of a prominent resident....and it may have been buried. That's the word around the CLEA. Typically not a conspiracy theorist, but one must wonder. But hey...if cousin Joe Birkett himself couldn't keep his kid's weed bust out of the Sun...how could this guy?

Why the **** has it become de rigeur to pretend that you are a victim of crime? I see that a young woman from Wheaton, Ms. Valerie Markello of South Campbell Ave., at the ripe old age of 29, has been charged with filing a false police report after alleging that she was knocked down and sexually assaulted. I u derstand that there are some wingnuts out there...and this is probably one of them...but what does one hope to achieve by doing this? Any psychotherapists out there...feel free to weigh in.

I see that my alma mater has been victimized in the same manner. 19 year-old Safia Jilani of Oak Brook was charged by Elmhurst police with the same thing for faking an attack on her. She is a Muslim and made it seem as though she was attacked on the campus of EC...saying it was a hate crime.

I don't get it.

Your alma mater watched the Northwestern hoax from a few years ago and broke this down. People are stupid, and desire publicity.
