Don't know if the original thread got archived, so...

If anyone is interested, 2nd day of shots are up:

www.blue-echoes.com/gedowntown.html

I started out at 4 AM and I reshot two photos from the first day, the first is missing something, the second has the arch right in the right place. Downtown has a nice orange glow at 4 AM, very trippy.

As we were leaving for the morning, we ran into bitter boy walking into Einstein's. Nice meeting you bitter. I also had 2 others ask if I was "that guy" taking the downtown photos during this mornings walk.

More color in todays shots. Favorites for me are the flour barrel, the florae shots (it was REALLY that orange), 2nd Figo shot (2 bad spots on it - if only I would learn photoshop to remove that stuff), dog bowl, blur, the thing I always trip over when I go to Einstein's, and rop.

As always, I LOVE your photos. I especially like the shadowy bottles in the prairie-style window. Just simple and elegant all at once - like a great black dress! Smile

That window is above Cabs. Loved that shot, but I don't think I totally pulled it off. I am going to try that one in the morning this weekend.

Thanks for the kind words Amy!

I love you, your photos (with the possible exception of the Jazz Fest...because Fan talked me into hating them), and your wine collection. I like you more than I liked Fan.

How can you love my wine collection, you have never seen it?

Just scored 6 bottles of assorted 2005 vintage Turley Zinfandel this weekend. Best red Zin on the planet.

Isn't it sad that you have to qualify the zin as being red? What kind of a world do we live in?

Worst waste of one of my favorite bottles...my last 2001 Ken Wright Cellars Guadalupe vineyard Pinot Noir. Brought it to Ruydah's house...as he is a chef...and a very good one...and he and I had to share it with our wives. That was very upsetting. Very upsetting, indeed. In hindsight, we should have poured in the kitchen where they couldn't. They'd neither know the difference, nor care. Gotta remember that trick.

Mrs. Bry knows wine, so....

Best waste of wine I have ever had. At a friends for New years. I figured we were going to be there 12 hours, so I brought 9 bottles of wine. You ready for this line-up:

1 bottle of 1990 Chateau Latour
1 Bottle of 1991 Chateau Margaux
1 Bottle of 1993 Caymus Special Select
2 Bottle of 1900 Dominus (99 rated by Parker)
1 bottle of 1994 Turley Hayne Vineyard Syrah (perfect 100 rated wine by Parker)
2 bottle of 1996 Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay
1 bottle of 1996 Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc

Got to their house at 4 PM, and started ripping thru the bottles, eating great food, having a good time. By 3 AM, the host of the party pissed off the entire group of us with racist and anti christian slurs (Mrs. Bry is very religious, not a good mood) and me with anti whatever I listen to "sucks compared to the 70's man". That was the last time we ever did anything with them. Haven't said one word to them since.

See. Where they couldn't see.

Sorry.

You see, we could have brought them anything to the table in that big Riedel glass and they wouldn't have known the difference.
