Hey everyone, what is Glen Ellyn's motto? If known. A woman here at work was showing a handmade little crafty sign of her town, St. Charles, that shows little caricatures of various places in-town and has the slogan/motto, of course, 'Pride of the Fox'. She then asked, what is Glen Ellyn's motto? Heck, what is Wheaton's? The little picture reminded me of those laminated maps you can get that shows various advertisers and cartoons/caricatures. I see the clock tower as a symbol with the year. I'm sure that's our flag too. I don't look up that much, but in any event, I see a 'picture description' of the Village but is there a slogan? Oh-just found out, Glendale Heights: Proud and Progressive!
Hmmmm....If we don't have one, I'm sure the BB can come up with one!
Glen Ellyn: Where bums can be bums and citizens can pay taxes. Glen Ellyn: Where the homeless hang. Glen Ellyn: Cute, quaint, dirty.
I'm sure we can think of a few more. I really do love this town but some things do get under my skin, as you all know!

Yep, sorta what I was lightly thinking about Actually maybe the BB should come up with something and we take it to the town meeting. Maybe have a poll. I was going to put this post up on the NWBURBS site but kinda felt I'd get eaten alive by other towns! (feeling hurt, that sort of thing). I need to get thicker skin.
Home of the homeless!
Where our taxes are higher
I was joking about this with a fellow Wheatonite. They don't have one either. They also can claim higher taxes. We thought - Either your a Christian or your against us. (jokingly -of couse)
Funny, when you look for that phrase, it keeps hitting "Abbington Banquets". I now see the DuPage County has a historal look up and it does state, 'Jewel of the Western Suburbs'. I should have looked there first. However, Hinsdale residents also make that boast. oh -oh
GE is a jewel....just needs a little polishing and TLC.
