Ok, first we southern outcasts of Glen Ellyn find our favorite soft drink by the truck load (Diet Sundrop) in a grocery store in the middle of nowhere (Woodmans in Janesville, WI), and now my wife sees not one, but two Chick-Fil-A restuarants being built in the area, with the closest around Naperville & Butterfield Road? Hmmm... all of the sudden, I'm feeling better about this place! Now, if we could just get CMT to start re-running the Dukes of Hazzard again, life would be almost perfect..
Oh wait...I forgot...winter is coming...crap....this place sucks again!
There is a Woodman's a little closer than Janesville, WI....though I'm not sure how much closer. If you take North Avenue West to Randall Rd and head North....it'll be on the West side of the street about 15-20 minutes(I think) up the road.
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
Hahaha!! We've had heat and humidity? Must have been while I was back in NC for three days over the 4th of July!
I must admit, this is my time of year to laugh at you guys, because in a few months, you'll all be laughing at me again! "Hey, Clam, is that the Abominable Snowman walking down the street, cusing up a storm?" "Nah, it's just the local southern village idiot with his winter coat on!"
I want to know where you live, so I'll know who's snow blower to..um...borrow!
Thanks GESM2. I had to bribe the inventory lady at the Chicago Snapple & Dr. Pepper distributor to help me find Diet Sundrop in the area (it's that rare up here). The one in Janesville is the only one that stocks it in large enough quantity to sustain us for a couple of months. We usually buy about 15 cases at a time! The other area is in Madison, and some small town outside of Greenbay that apparently lives, breathes, loves Sundrop. We haven't made it up there yet, but you can bet it's on our "to do list"! We hear they have the old-school Sundrop too, in the glass bottles with the fruit pulp still in the mix! The stuff is like Crack to us North Carolinians (also the reason for our state's wonderful dental performance).

They're not inept! They just try to redirect the ones I've recruited to other locations. . . . . then claim credit no matter where they open!
All in the same week? My favorite food arrives within driving distance, my favorite childhood show comes back to the airwaves, and I've got a fresh stack of my favorite soft drink in the garage, plus my B'day?
PS: We've been to the Regency Mall in Racine, specifically for that Chick-fil-A! Never could understand it, why the 3rd largest city in the country doesn't have one, yet some random mall with tumble weeds practically rolling through it, in some random town, does.
Now if I could just figure out where Clam lives, so I can "borrow" that snow blower in a few months, I might just stop barking at the idiots who can't count to 4 at the 4-way stops around here!
