Years ago we subscribed the the Glen Ellyn News. For whatever reason, we cancelled the subscription. We've not received a copy since. However, we have neighbors that receive a weekly copy yet do not pay. What is the deal?

I don't believe I know of anyone who subscribes to the News. Just sort of ends up on your driveway. That said, Jerry Moore, your delivery staff no longer walks down my block. Haven't gotten the paper in a year. Fortunately, there are a lot of people on Park who leave it on their drive for days at a time. Community service guy that I am, I take it from their driveway and eliminate the need for them to do so. I'll admit that this week's paper was pretty wet after last night's rain.

We never subscribed, but yet received one every week. Never understood that business model.

Circulation is king. Collecting money from people who subscribe is probably a money losing situation!

My best friend and I took over her sister's paper route (Daily Herald, I believe) for a couple of months when we were in junior high....collection was the WORST part! Of course, back then there were no online bill pay options, either....

I dunno. The best part about collection was people were more willing to tip on an ongoing basis, rather than just at Christmas time.
