Woke us up too. Still in a sleepy fog, I thought it was just the wind against the house, and went back to sleep. Wife told me this morning that "I knew I wasn't crazy, we had an earthquake."
Saw an interview this morning where a woman said her dog awakened her prior to, acting very strange, barking. Researching it this morning, lots out there on animal behavior prior to quakes, interesting reading. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, at least 94 people reported feeling the quake in Glen Ellyn. Anyone's pets sense it?
All three dogs slept soundly without peep . I heard "a snow plow hitting the street hard" only to learn my neighbor heard and thought the same but her bed also shook, thus the quake. We sleep on a sleep number bed so I'm thinking the air mattress absorbed the movement. My 94 y.o. mother felt it and was relieved it was ONLY a quake. LOL
Jombl Just accept the fact that your wife is very sensitive. She should be listened to.
Our cat was meowing and acting squirrely around that time, but then again, he always does. He's fond of trying to wake us up at ungodly hours. So honestly, I didn't think anything of it, and didn't notice any other disturbance. Alas, I appear to have missed the Great Quake of 2010.
Lol, my cat often does the same thing....sometimes I think she's gotten into the Cosmic Catnip: running through the house at break-neck speeds, randomly chewing on my fingers and such, etc.
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
