Kuipers has a web site that has a lot of info. as well. We are still looking for a place to go, I have a hard time spending $100 or more for a day of apple/pumpkin picking. But that is just me.
Come on Yigo, these are memories you're making here! Funny thing, Mr. ST and I went to Kuipers a couple of weeks ago. As we were riding out on the hay wagon with all the 3 and 4 year olds we looked at each other and just cracked up. We looked a little silly but had a fun day anyway. Great apples!
Alas, we went to Kuiper's last Sunday, and it looked like Grant Park on the 4th of July - I would add the caveat that, although they DO have phenomenal activities (and Doughnuts!), one should only go in October if they don't mind MASSIVE crowds...

I knew I liked you Nika. Not only do you cast an aspersion on to GEM (which is always fun), but you quote one of my favorite movies. Jerry Reed (RIP) was a great hitman.

Well, we went, we saw, we got, and we FROZE! Thanks all for the tip on Kuippers, we'll be going back for the Christmas tree too. But, man oh' man....you guys do realize it's way too early for SNOW (we saw a few flakes in the air Saturday out there). Looks like I'm going to have to medicate my coastal Carolina wife soon, for the next several months. Guess I better relock those home gas bills too, because I doubt the furnace will be going off until May. God, I feel sorry for those of you who have to ride the train into downtown every day. I can only imagine how cold it gets down there, and the fun of having to walk several blocks. I know as I'm coming home from my office, in Bloomingdale, and see the folks walking home from the train...not a lot of happy looking faces.
As I understand it, Trader Joe is held by a German family trust, and is owned by one of the two brothers who also own the Aldi chains. Apparently, they're run totally indepdently of each other. I know, everyone is always surprised that there's any relationship whatsoever.

Speaking of Aldi, the ad today had solid pine twin bunk beds for $169. I almost spit out my coffee. That's a great price. Wasn't someone looking for bunk beds? Of course you'd have to take a good look at them in person, but they looked nice in the ad.

Got a really nice cherry mission style end table with drawer- not particle board mind you- solid wood. At $39.95 it was a deal. Even passed muster by the better half.
Limited selection and not everything is great but once you get the hang of whats good.... extra $ for Fat Tire Ale.
