I can't believe that's true. The village trees are an important element of charm for the village. With the way things are looking in the CBD, we need all the trees (charm) we can plant. |

| A tree service is in front of my house cutting down my tree as we speak. Tears were shed by me and my four year old. My older child will be so sad when she comes home from school. I know it's not practical, but I wish they had posted a note on the door yesterday to tell us it was coming down today, I know she would have wanted to say goodbye. My husband won't care - he didn't care when he saw the letter, but the kids did and they were additionally worried about what looks to us like a nest of some sort in the upper branches. I hope it's vacant. |

| I too will miss that tree. I drive by it daily and always enjoyed its beauty! |

| Hope the spring brings the tree's replacement. My Mother used to say (quoting someone): "The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is today."
