Power outage on 7/7?

Anyone else around the Lowell/Longfellow area have a power outage from about 3:30a to 5:30am this morning?

Very odd. There was a brief (light) rainstorm, and then power went off -- then on, then off, on -- then finally off for two hours or so.

Anyone know what happened?

In the Posh YMCA district the lights flickered many times around 3:30, but stayed on after about 3 minutes of this. Looked on radar and saw it was a brief rainstorm, so didn't quite see the connection...

Here in the SARC, power must have just flickered a tiny bit - microwave and coffee maker were blinking, but bedroom clocks were all fine. I didn't even know it rained until I saw the damp pavement in the morning.

I lost 7 minutes of a Breaking Bad rerun on my DVR.

Don't make me ring my bell!

Did most of the town lose power? I'm at work (stuck on Metra for 60 mins) but I'm wondering how GE made out during the storm.

Will find out at 5pm ...

At least half of Braeside lost power (the Surrey/Briar neighborhood between 53 & Roosevelt). Possibly more, though I don't know if it's back on yet or not. It's not usually out for too long recently.

Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele

Just drove through GE, it's a mess. Trees down all over. I'd bet some of us will be without power for a long time.

Tree limbs fell on the power lines on Maiden and Parkside. Luckily the stunning blonde owns a chain saw from her past ice carving life.

That's what she told you, RMK? Do you sleep with one eye open?

Maybe that's why RMK refers to her as a stunning blonde.

Just went out for dinner. Binnys, Tj no power. But aldis did?? Ellyns and Chick n salsa closed. Domincks was open

No lights still on Roosevelt between main and the chase bank.

Park and Roosevelt is still closed (from Park).

As we were going north on Park to the stop sign (so we could get around Roosevelt) saw a snapped power pole.

Patch was saying that people in Winfield told it could be 5 days.

Make sure you call comed. I keep them in my speed dial on my cell phone.

Chipoltle, McDonalds, and Alfis were slammed with business.
