My dish will require one of these:

Yoss, do you have one or should I bring mine from home?

Looks like were at 40 guests, give or take a few.

We live on a corner lot, so there should be plenty of parking. If need directions, give me a call on the number listed on the Evite.

Just a word about our 3 dogs- they're big (Bouvier Des Flandres) and they bark a lot when guests arrive, but they don't bite. Once they've given you a through sniffin' they will bug you for attention, just tell them to "git". It's OK to give them a little food, but don't give them any grapes, they are toxic to dogs. Also please leave the toilet seat & lid down or they will drink it dry.

We also have a parrot named Garth who can talk. Please don't teach him any nasty phrases like Eat S*** or Vote Democrat.

Mrs. Yoss & I will be preparing some light appetizers. We'll have plenty of beer & Mike's Lite but I could use some suggestions on what type of wine to have-we both don't drink it, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Looking forward to next weekend!

Merry New Year!

DARN! I would LOVE to teach your parrot to say that! Big Grin

I think were good on the libations, a nice dessert might be just the ticket.

Suggestion: Ask the wine guy at T.J.'s next trip in. Call first to make sure he's there. Tell him what main dishes you expect to have on hand and the wine budget. His wine knowledge is deep.

Yoss,

My wife reminded me that next weekend is our anniversary weekend and that your party would not fulfill my husbandly obligation of wining and dining her. Alas, we will not be attending. Appreciate the invite, perhaps we'll be able to catch the next GEBB gathering.

While Mrs. Yoss and I love kids, it can be hard to attend to our guests and keep children entertained.

Liar. That was a very PC way of saying that you hate kids and every guest should not even think about bringing their kids.

I think Yoss knows a little too much about some of these kids. They color all over walls and furniture, they cry a lot, they occasionally run around naked and behave in other non-socially acceptable ways. You get the picture - plus the bird might bite their little fingers. Eek

"While" = beginning of a lie. I agree with Fan. Like you couldn't hire a balloon twisting clown...all the $$$ you two have.

Though I agree with Yoss that kids should be nowhere near this gig. I've heard stories of past "holiday" celebrations.

How about hiring a couple of camp counselors to run a "day care" out back ?

GEMom2-Always the voice of reason. Big Grin

Garth (the bird) doesn't bite, but my youngest pooch sees children as fun play toys. Boomer weighs in at 100 lbs and while he doesn't bite, he tends to jump on people to say "Hello". I would put a damper on things if a youngster got injured by Boomer's playing.
