There was no winner in the $171 million Mega Millions lottery drawing last night, but two Chicago-area ticket buyers came close.
There were eleven second-prize winners matching all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000 each. Two of those tickets were sold in Illinois--one at a convenience store in Glen Ellyn and the second at a grocery store in Chicago.
Also, 48 tickets--including five in Illinois--matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Yoss, you gave me a good heart-skipping this morning. We hadn't checked our numbers yet. But alas, we aren't the lucky ones. It was fun to imagine for a few minutes anyway!
