Just
blogged about an outstanding cross country experience at Arrowhead on Sunday (before strapping on the skates at Lake Ellyn later that afternoon).
Contacted the Village Links today and the staff stated they do not allow X-c skiing there due to "unsafe conditions."
Question to veteran residents: has this always been the case?
Any suggestions on where cross country skiing is permitted here in town that offers a reasonably good experience?
GlenEllynite Not quite "in-town" but I understand the Morton Arboretum now allows skiing and I've heard good reviews.

GlenEllynite Herrick Lake area, and the Danada area (off Naperville Rd) are both great areas to x-country ski. I think Arrowhead allows it as well.
GlenEllynite Try GEFan's house, I hear he hasn't shoveled.
